Google will close the application designer App Maker on January 19, 2021 due to its low demand. Reported by company, "Build apps that fill gaps, like accelerating business workflows or scaling internal operations, with G Suite’s low-code development environment. App Maker is included with G Suite Business and Enterprise editions, as well as with G Suite for Education." The service will be gradually downturned, as explained by Google.
Google App Maker have templates, drag-and-drop UI design, and declarative data modeling, with Google aiming at IT developers and enthusiasts. Apps develop via App maker with are connected with first-party services such as Gmail and Calendar and G-suite admins will have full control access in App Maker. From April 15, 2020, it will no longer be possible to create new applications in the designer, but it will be possible to edit the already existing ones. By January 19, 2021, all applications based on the App Maker will stop working.
The company informed that due to the specific source used for App Maker users will not be able to directly transfer their applications to another platform and have advised users to consider its other services.
