Facebook rolled out a new "faster, smaller and simpler" version of Messenger for iOS. The new app loads twice as fast and is one-fourth the size of the previous one and will be officially rolled out “over the next few weeks". Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO said, the app will “feel much faster and more responsive compared to other apps you use.” This is especially useful for people opening up the app multiple times in a day to see stories, chat with friends, etc.
The new app has a simple design but a few features will be temporarily unavailable. Facebook did not confirm which features will be absent. According to a website report, new upgrade or redesign of the app might have the discover tab removed that shows different chatbots and businesses could you message. Users can also search for games and much more from the discover tab.
Facebook will be working to bring back the removed features, but did not mentioned. In May 2018, Facebook announced a redesign for Messenger and said that the app would be made simpler.
