COVID -19 - Microsoft launched new Coronavirus Tracking Website

Google is still working to develop a virus tracker for coronavirus, Microsoft Bing team launched a website for tracking Coronavirus infections worldwide. bing.com/covid, deliver up-to-date information and tracking features for each country.

Microsoft Bing Covid-19 tracker has currently 169,657 total confirmed cases, 85379 active cases, 77,761 recovered cases and reported 6517 fatal cases globally.  In the US, 3244 confirmed cases and at least 61 deaths are reported due to coronavirus.  Michael Schechter, General Manager for Bing Growth and Distribution at Microsoft quoted, "Lots of Bing folks worked (from home) this past week to create a mapping and authoritative news resource for COVID19 info."

The map allows users to track statics by each country and see the number of cases and related articles from publishers. Microsoft Bing collects data from the sources the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Microsoft announced the website two days after Donald Trump, US President said Google had begun working on the COVID-19-related portal for US citizens. "More than 1,700 engineers are currently working on the site," Trump said.

Google's tracking website announced, "partnering with the US Government in developing a nationwide website that includes information about COVID-19 symptoms, risk, and testing information."
